An unbelievable donation from Warwick Ambulance Association

By Naomi Rees Issitt

News hero: An unbelievable donation from Warwick Ambulance Association

How many more people are going to hear the 999 call handler say those crucial words now “don’t panic there’s an accessible defibrillator nearby”

I don’t even know how to start this post. All of us at OurJay are completely overwhelmed and grateful for this unbelievable donation we received yesterday evening.

We received the kindest letter a few weeks ago from Warwick Ambulance Association, which advised us that sadly, they are unable to continue as a charity, due to a number of reasons, but OurJay Foundation has been chosen as one of the charities to receive a donation from their remaining funds.

We were invited to their presentation evening yesterday and we were so shocked to be handed this amazing cheque for £50,000!

Of course, we are upset to lose Warwick Ambulance Association, but we are determined to use these funds for many more accessible defibrillators and mobile defibrillators, for communities across Warwickshire.

As most of you know, November is such a hard time for us, even harder than every other month. With Jamie’s birthday fast approaching and then Christmas/New Year starting to creep up on us, I find it so tough to stay positive and keep fighting, but I know Jamie sent this for us, I know he played a part in this and I know he somehow brought this news for us. Jamie’s legacy will spread even further and wider now and many more lives can be saved. We all so wish he was beside us right now, he is our absolute hero and inspiration every second of every day 💙🩵💙

Thank you to all at Warwick Ambulance Association. There are no words that we can say, that could express how grateful we are. You’ve done so much good since you started over 100 years ago. You’re all hero’s to the people of Warwick, Leamington and surrounding areas and to us 💜
