First OurJay/St John Ambulance joint awareness session

By Naomi Rees Issitt

News hero: First OurJay/St John Ambulance joint awareness session

Today was our first joint confidence booster in Life-saving first aid with our friends at St John Ambulance North and East Warwickshire. We met some lovely people, who were all very keen to learn about OurJay, CPR, Defibrillators and other life-saving skills (recovery position, choking, catastrophic bleeds, paediatric CPR).

Everyone took part in the demonstrations and there were so many very sensible questions asked and answered.

We’d like to say a big thank you to Nicholas Old and all the volunteers from SJA. We’d also like to say a big thank you to OurJays volunteers Jack and Jackie for supporting us at this session.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who came along and took part in this vital information session, we appreciate your feedback and kind words and we look forward to our next event in January.

Today was also the first outing for our newest manikin, ‘Janice’, she joins our other female manikin, Phoebe. As you can see, we spent some time discussing bystander CPR on women and our female manikins looked great in their new ‘pop off’ sports bras! #braoffpadson 💜

A morning well spent!
