Follow up meeting with Dame Diana Johnson - Crime and Policing minister
By Naomi Rees Issitt
On Thursday afternoon we met again with Dame Diana Johnson MP, Minister of State for Crime, Policing and Fire.
We talked about Police Vehicle defibrillators, the great progress we have made with Warwickshire Police and the great news we’ve recently shared alongside Red Sky Foundation about their defibrillators donation to Northumbria Police vehicle defibrillators.
Most importantly for us, we talked about Jamies Law and our determination to make Police vehicle defibrillators mandatory across the UK, in memory of our precious Jamie.
We really felt listened to and understood and it was good to answer the questions that Minister Johnson had for us. We look forward to meeting with her and her team again, when we have further evidence from Warwickshire and Northumbria on lives saved, time saved in emergencies and impact on officers involved in these awful situations 💙🩵💙
Thank you to Assitant Chief Constable Claire Armes, Superintendent Darren Webster, photographer Oli, Officer/dog handler Amy and our favourite for the day, PD Jinx 🐾
Amy and Jinx will be one of the teams carrying a defibrillator in their vehicle going forwards, as always, we hope it’s never needed, but we’re so glad you have it now…just in case!
