OurJay police vehicle defib used to save mans life in Warwickshire
By Naomi Rees Issitt
Post from Warwickshire Police:
When we were told that a man had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest opposite our station in Bedworth we leapt into action.
A quick-thinking worker at the library got the attention of one of our officers. They called for backup and started CPR immediately.
More officers from the station ran over to help and one of our defibrillator-carrying traffic patrol cars was on scene within five minutes, delivering two shocks.
Paramedics arrived to take over and we were really happy to hear that the man is now doing very well.
We thought that was the end of it, but the man very kindly emailed the force to ask us to pass on a thanks to those officers.
We’ve made sure that’s been done and we thought we’d take this chance to say a huge public thank you to each one of them. We couldn’t be more proud.
A thanks also to the OurJay Foundation, whose extraordinary work has led to more of our cars being equipped with defibrillators.
